It'll make sense soon, I promise

I know these look like just really high tech beach balls, or volley balls.  Or just some high tech balls.  I promise there's more to these, so you'll just have to trust me. More coming soon.

Update on Ghost Slums

Been so busy lately with job searching and learning some 3ds that I haven't had a chance to get back to some of the 2d projects I started last month.  Here's and update on the Ghost Slums, I'm reworking it....... a lot.  After some time away from it, I decided to add a bit of a photo to help out with details and some of the city that I could use to build up around the main structure.  Still has a ways to go.

2013 Portfolio and website update click here

Added all my newest and best work and a few older ones that have been updated with better presentation.  Also added the Grim Bao model I made from Zbrush, and really excited to start working on the Sea witch next.

Zbrush is the B's knees

This program is so incredibly fun.  I'm chipping away at this guy in between concept designs going into the port. It's still early on but you might recognize this guy as Grim Bao from my portfolio.

almost done with this one

morning studies

Feel like this was more of a step back compared to yesterdays morning studies.  The color is way to washed out, although with 10 more mins could prob fix that.  Other issues include the shapes, although aside from the far right one, today's shapes are prob a little more accurate than yesterday.

Here's video

morning studies

2hrs

I'm working on my portraiture, likeness, and color in these studies.  No use of a color picker and the undo/redo is another point I'm trying to get my mind used to while working digitally anymore.  These things are nice to have and speed up any process but can also hinder growth and skill development if relied on too much.

The first 2 portraits I'm not really happy with, as well they took the longest.  The last I'm happiest with, only taking max 30mins.  The problems I see in the 3rd are not as much red and orange on the right side ( our left) to suggest what seems to be reflected light while the whiter lighter on the left ( our right) has a little more blue tint to it across some of the wrap.  All could use work on shapes and gesture, and smiles are a giant pain in the ass, but fun and challenging to paint.
